We want to know the truth about the war, its costs, and the exit plan.
We have questions about our international relations – who are our friends?
We are concerned about the growing budget deficits.
There is also the question of basic civil liberties, so precious to our heritage.
We believe that we cannot ignore threats to the environment and a pattern in decision-making that appears to serve selfish business interests over the interests of the public at large.
But as much as anything we are worried about the direction of our society, with government policies that appear to favor the rich and punish the poor. The gap in life styles appears to be growing, not diminishing. The dream of an egalitarian society, where all have a chance to happiness on the basis of their effort and personal merit is being denied. This is not the kind of America we want. This is the peril we see.
Our objective is to learn and to do what we can to help others to learn. We want to pursue the truth, fully knowledgeable that answers may be elusive.
We would like to invite you and all who share these concerns to join us in that effort.
