Linda Greenhouse is Knight Distinguished Journalist-in-Residence and Joseph Goldstein Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. She assumed those positions in January 2009, after 30 years covering the Supreme Court of the United States for the New York Times. She received numerous journalism awards during her career at the Times, including a Pulitzer Prize in 1998 for her coverage of the Supreme Court; the American Political Science Association’s Carey McWilliams Award for “a major journalistic contribution to our understanding of politics” in 2002; and the John Chancellor Award for Excellence in Journalism from the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania, in 2004. Ms. Greenhouse is one of two non-lawyer honorary members of the American Law Institute, which awarded her its Henry Friendly Medal. She is also a member of the board of directors of the American Constitution Society.
